Who runs BattleTap

BattleTap (https://battletap.gg) is run by Kent Tollette, an individual based in Dallas, Texas, USA. "We" and "us" in these terms means him. You can reach us at support@battletap.gg.

Who can play

You must be 13 or older to use BattleTap. If you're under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you, and must agree before you buy BattleTap+.

The free game

The daily game, stats, favorites, the Battle Atlas, challenge links and the daily rank card are free and don't need an account. We may change, add or remove features at any time.

BattleTap+

BattleTap+ is an optional subscription. It adds the full archive, practice packs, campaigns and challenge customization.

• Price: US$0.99 a month or US$9.99 a year. Prices include any sales tax.
• Free trial: new subscribers get 7 days free. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your first payment is taken when it ends. One trial per person.
• Automatic renewal: your subscription renews at the end of each month or year, and we charge the card on file, until you cancel.
• Cancelling: cancel any time through the "Manage subscription" link, which opens the Stripe customer portal. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep BattleTap+ until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Switching plans: if you switch between monthly and yearly, you're charged or credited the difference right away. If you switch during your free trial, the trial continues and your first charge is for the new plan when the trial ends.
• Price changes: if we change the price, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal. You can cancel before then.
• Refunds: see our Refund Policy.
• Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us.

Donations

Donations through Ko-fi (ko-fi.com/battletap) are optional and handled under Ko-fi's own terms. A donation doesn't buy BattleTap+ or any other feature.

Playing fair

Don't:

• use bots, scripts or other tools to play, look up answers or submit results
• submit results you didn't play for, or try to manipulate the rank card or leaderboards
• attack, overload or try to break into BattleTap or its servers
• copy large parts of the game or its content

We may hide results we think are unfair, remove them from rankings, or suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Some checks are automatic, so an honest result is occasionally caught. If you think that happened to you, email us.

Names and text you add

Display names and group names must not be offensive, hateful, sexual, misleading or someone else's identity. Names pass through a profanity filter and have a length limit. You can report a name by emailing us. We may change or remove any name, or the group or account that uses it, without notice. You're responsible for what you type.

History content

We research every battle carefully, but history is disputed and we make mistakes. Locations, dates, numbers and stories may be approximate or wrong. BattleTap is a game, not a reference work. If you spot an error, tell us through the in-game feedback form.

Ownership

BattleTap, its game design and its original text belong to us. You may share screenshots, your results and challenge links. Images are credited on each Battle Atlas page. Many are public domain or used under Creative Commons licenses, and those images follow their own license terms, not ours.

No guarantees

BattleTap is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will suit any purpose.

Limit on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data such as streaks or stats. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$10. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters for BattleTap+ subscribers, we'll email them before it takes effect. Playing after a change means you accept it.

Ending the service

You can stop playing at any time. We may suspend or end BattleTap, or any feature, at any time. If we shut down BattleTap+, we'll give subscribers at least 30 days' notice and refund the unused part of any yearly plan.

Law and disputes

Texas law governs these terms. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Dallas County, Texas, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it somewhere else. Please email us first; most problems can be fixed that way.
